Guys, today I have come to the conclusion that I need a hobby. Everyone in my family has a hobby, and about 99.9999% of my friends have them, which is incidentally the percentage of germs the average hand sanitizer kills. Anyways, my mom quilts, my dad woodworks, my sister is in track, cheerleading, and the school play, and most of my friends do a sport of some kind. Blondie does dance, and she is really good at it. And very passionate, too. I went to her recital yesterday, and it was really good. I got her autograph afterwards; she loved it.
My point it, everyone has something that they are passionate about. Not convinced? Luckily, I have more examples for you! Tee is an artist of sorts, but not the bad kind. It's not like she paints every day, but a lot. She is also in cross country and track (and pole vault!). Ducky has a lot of side jobs (working for her mom, working at a restaurant, babysitting, cleaning houses, making duct-tape things, etc) and also she is pretty into the whole outdoorsy farm-girl thing. Which is great! She's great at that stuff. Personally I can't milk a goat that well, but she's a pro. Cowgirl is a very talented runner in both cross country and track, and she also works her ass off at a restaurant. Hermione is trying very hard to find a job, so that's one major thing in her life right now, but she also plays soccer and is very athletic.
So you see, all of my friends have hobbies. I need a hobby. Otherwise once the college semester is over, I shall just sit on my cute little butt and eat chocolate until I am five hundred and seven pounds. That wouldn't be good for the furniture, you see. And I am always looking for ways to be a good daughter, and ruining my parents' furniture would not be one of those ways. Annnnnyways... It's list time! Hah. I love a good list.
Potential Hobbies:
For Right Now: For the Future:
1. 1. Join Queens' Quidditch team!
2. 2. Join in Zombie vs. Human fights!
3. 3. Join some kind of green-eco-environment club!
What a great list!... for the future. What will I do right now?! I don't know! I have to find something, or I'll flatten the couch! I do need to find a job, but that's not really a hobby... And yeah, I'm aware I kinda sorta listed it as my friends' hobbies. So I'm a hypocrite, get over it, you filthy no-good hypocrite!
I really like concerts, but I am neither a musician nor rich. I could become a musician! I do want to learn to play drums... However, I am still not rich. I am in fact rather poor. So what else could I do? I could continue blogging about nothing, I guess... I could become a mall person, who wanders aimlessly for hours looking at clothes she cannot afford because she has no job because she wanders the mall aimlessly for hours...
Wait. Have I just had an idea?! No, not the mall thing. Forget the mall. This is bigger than the mall! No, not actually bigger than the mall. Quit being so literal. I could write!
Not just here! I could review every (physical) CD in my collection, write biographies of even more artists, and analyze all my favorite songs! This could be great! I could go lay outside in a hammock or on the beach, and write pages and pages about bands, songs, cover art... OoooOOoooooOh, this is the best idea I have ever had! Some of these things I could post I suppose, if other things happening in my life aren't all that interesting... And they never are, so this might just become a straightup music blog. Also, I've been toying with the idea of creating a secondary fashion blog (I even thought of a name for it), so maybe if the music thing turns out to be an awful idea, maybe that could be my hobby.
But this is good! Now I know how I'll spend (maybe) (part) of my summer!

"I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done."
That's a Lucille Ball quote, if you didn't know and were curious. And I have decided, for better or for worse, that this is how I should live my life. In case you need further clarification, this basically means that if I have an idea of a thing I want to do, and that thing is legal, and won't kill me, and won't maim me, and won't irreparably destroy my future/life, I will do that thing.
You might still be curious as to what this really means. Let's put it this way: I might go to prom, even though chances of me having a date are about 0.000000000000000001%, and I previously stated (several times, and very vehemently) that I would not go without a date.
Wait! I haven't updated you about the date situation yet. I'm sure you care bunches and bunches, so I shall now update you on the aforementioned situation.
First, I thought to myself, "hey, self, we don't really have much of anything left to lose anymore! Let's ask approximately 384975 guys to prom until one says yes!" I considered this to be a very good idea, so I asked Jetta. Remember him? That guy I don't talk to very much? Yeah, he said no. Shocking, right? Actually he said he would if he was going to prom, but he's "not a prom kinda guy." Oh well. At least he was nice about it.
Then I asked Sophomore. He seemed interested, then asked when it was taking place. I told him May 5th, and he said he was going to be out of town. Oh well. At least he was nice about it.
Then I thought about asking Farmboy, but my poor self-esteem was so low that I didn't dare do that just yet. I figured maybe I could do that when he fixed the struts on my car. He's gonna be an auto mechanic, or something, and he's all licensed and whatnot. But I still haven't talked to him about fixing my car, so I also haven't talked to him about prom. I probably won't.
The next guy on my prom list is... hm... what's a good nickname for him? How about the Doctor. Because he watches so much Doctor Who, not because he's planning to become a doctor. He's a froshie from bridge building, and he seems pretty cool. The problem is, his sister is a senior, and probably does not want her baby brother at her prom. However, I care very little about what Doctor's sister wants... Not because I dislike her, but because I am completely indifferent to her. We've never been friends, we've never hung out, we've never spent any amount of time together. Therefore, what she thinks of me doesn't matter. What she thinks of me taking her brother to prom, doesn't matter.
The problem is, the Doctor is very quiet and shy when he isn't around his friends. However, I know at least one and maybe two of his friends are going to prom, so that may not be an issue. The other problem is that he is afraid of my mother (for reasons we don't really need to go in to right now), and also I'm not sure he likes me at all (as a friend, I mean). Sure, he comments on my facebook statuses and likes my comments and stuff... but presented with the choice, he always had Sophomore drive him home after bridge building, and not me. But also, I know for a fact that he did, at one point, really want to go to prom, so if he still feels that way, perhaps he would go with me.
Anyways. There's that update for ya. Now back to the original topic of the day...
List of Stuff I Will Do So I Don't Regret Not Doing It:
1. Have a mohawk. At some point, this shall happen.
2. Have a platinum-blonde-and-electric-blue mohawk. This coincides with number one, conveniently enough.
3. Go to the stupid prom.
4. Go far, far away for college. Oh yes, this is already a thing I will do soon!
5. Study abroad for a whole semester, preferably in Australia.
6. Get my belly button pierced.
7. Participate in NaNoWriMo, and maybe even finish a novel!
8. Legitimately learn parkour this summer. But only if I don't get an internship. If I do, I probably will not have time.
9. Join the Peace Corps.
10. Participate/document the Festival of Colors in Utah. I have never been to Utah, but for this, I would go.
I shall keep you updated, non-existent readers! At least six of these shall be completed within the next year, so at least six of these you shall hear about!
