That's a Lucille Ball quote, if you didn't know and were curious. And I have decided, for better or for worse, that this is how I should live my life. In case you need further clarification, this basically means that if I have an idea of a thing I want to do, and that thing is legal, and won't kill me, and won't maim me, and won't irreparably destroy my future/life, I will do that thing.
You might still be curious as to what this really means. Let's put it this way: I might go to prom, even though chances of me having a date are about 0.000000000000000001%, and I previously stated (several times, and very vehemently) that I would not go without a date.
Wait! I haven't updated you about the date situation yet. I'm sure you care bunches and bunches, so I shall now update you on the aforementioned situation.
First, I thought to myself, "hey, self, we don't really have much of anything left to lose anymore! Let's ask approximately 384975 guys to prom until one says yes!" I considered this to be a very good idea, so I asked Jetta. Remember him? That guy I don't talk to very much? Yeah, he said no. Shocking, right? Actually he said he would if he was going to prom, but he's "not a prom kinda guy." Oh well. At least he was nice about it.
Then I asked Sophomore. He seemed interested, then asked when it was taking place. I told him May 5th, and he said he was going to be out of town. Oh well. At least he was nice about it.
Then I thought about asking Farmboy, but my poor self-esteem was so low that I didn't dare do that just yet. I figured maybe I could do that when he fixed the struts on my car. He's gonna be an auto mechanic, or something, and he's all licensed and whatnot. But I still haven't talked to him about fixing my car, so I also haven't talked to him about prom. I probably won't.
The next guy on my prom list is... hm... what's a good nickname for him? How about the Doctor. Because he watches so much Doctor Who, not because he's planning to become a doctor. He's a froshie from bridge building, and he seems pretty cool. The problem is, his sister is a senior, and probably does not want her baby brother at her prom. However, I care very little about what Doctor's sister wants... Not because I dislike her, but because I am completely indifferent to her. We've never been friends, we've never hung out, we've never spent any amount of time together. Therefore, what she thinks of me doesn't matter. What she thinks of me taking her brother to prom, doesn't matter.
The problem is, the Doctor is very quiet and shy when he isn't around his friends. However, I know at least one and maybe two of his friends are going to prom, so that may not be an issue. The other problem is that he is afraid of my mother (for reasons we don't really need to go in to right now), and also I'm not sure he likes me at all (as a friend, I mean). Sure, he comments on my facebook statuses and likes my comments and stuff... but presented with the choice, he always had Sophomore drive him home after bridge building, and not me. But also, I know for a fact that he did, at one point, really want to go to prom, so if he still feels that way, perhaps he would go with me.
Anyways. There's that update for ya. Now back to the original topic of the day...
List of Stuff I Will Do So I Don't Regret Not Doing It:
1. Have a mohawk. At some point, this shall happen.
2. Have a platinum-blonde-and-electric-blue mohawk. This coincides with number one, conveniently enough.
3. Go to the stupid prom.
4. Go far, far away for college. Oh yes, this is already a thing I will do soon!
5. Study abroad for a whole semester, preferably in Australia.
6. Get my belly button pierced.
7. Participate in NaNoWriMo, and maybe even finish a novel!
8. Legitimately learn parkour this summer. But only if I don't get an internship. If I do, I probably will not have time.
9. Join the Peace Corps.
10. Participate/document the Festival of Colors in Utah. I have never been to Utah, but for this, I would go.
I shall keep you updated, non-existent readers! At least six of these shall be completed within the next year, so at least six of these you shall hear about!
