A Word About College Illness

So, apparently when people go home for the weekend and then come back, they bring hometown sicknesses with them. Like gross little souvenirs. And because I have a shitty immune system, I catch these sicknesses! However, I have used this opportunity to gather a few tips so that your own collegiate illness maybe won't suck as much.

Tip #1: You know how in high school, when you're sick you get to stay home and watch TV, and someone makes you soup? That doesn't happen in college. You get up, grab the box of tissues, and take your sick ass to class. Besides, you don't have a TV anyways.

Tip #2: Sleep as much as you can, but be reasonable. If you have a twelve-page paper due next week, work on it some. Don't wait until the day before it's due to finish it, especially since you'll probably still be sick that day.

Tip #3: Take vitamins. I'm doing this, but it hasn't done anything for me yet. But still. Apparently it's good for your immune system. Start doing this before you get sick.

Tip #4: This might sound obvious, but don't go to a party when you're sick. Not only will you get everyone else sick, the alcohol will not help your throat.

Tip #5: Take a couple hours to mope around and feel sorry for yourself. Listen to some music. Catch up on your netflix instant queue. Do whatever you want for a couple hours. But then get off your ass and go to class! You'll thank me later.
